Lucknow News: It is with immense pride and joy that the Badshah Nagar Durga Puja Committee announces the commencement of its 70th Durga Puja celebration at the Manoranjan Sansthan, North Eastern Railway Campus, Badshah Nagar, Lucknow. Since its humble beginnings in 1956, this Puja has remained an unbroken annual tradition, earning the distinction of being the oldest and most traditional Durga Puja celebration in the Trans-Gomti region of Lucknow.
This year, the festivities will span from 28th September to 1st October 2025, culminating with the Vijaya Dashami immersion procession on 2nd October 2025. As always, the event promises to be a beautiful confluence of religious devotion and cultural richness. The Puja Pandal will be artistically decorated, blending Lucknow’s intricate wood-carving traditions with the elegance of Bengali Alpana designs, showcasing a unique fusion of regional artistic expressions.
Detailed Programme Schedule:
28th September 2025 – Maha Shashthi
9:00 AM: Kalash Sthapana and traditional rituals performed by women for the well-being and prosperity of their children.
7:00 PM: Pran Pratishtha and Bodhan of Maa Durga with ceremonial ornamentation and sacred chants.
8:00 PM onwards: Cultural evening featuring a dance and music performance by Abhishek Mukherjee.
29th September 2025 – Maha Saptami
9:25 AM: Worship of Maa Durga in her Kaalratri form.
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Pushpanjali followed by Boondi Prasad distribution.
2:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Bhandara (community feast).
7:00 PM – 8:30 PM: Evening Aarti.
8:30 PM onwards: Dance drama by students of the Anup Jalota Academy of Spiritual Music.
30th September 2025 – Maha Ashtami
9:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Ashtami Puja, Pushpanjali, and Prasad distribution.
1:21 PM – 2:09 PM: Special Sandhi Puja with the offering of 108 lamps, creating a divine spectacle.
2:30 PM – 4:00 PM: Bhandara.
7:00 PM – 8:30 PM: Evening Aarti.
8:30 PM onwards: Bhajan Sandhya by Omkar Shankhdhar.
1st October 2025 – Maha Navami
From 9:00 AM: Navami Puja dedicated to Maa Siddhidatri, with Pushpanjali and Prasad.2:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Bhandara.7:00 PM – 8:30 PM: Evening Aarti.8:30 PM onwards: Classical dance by the Ratan Sisters & Group.
2nd October 2025 – Vijaya Dashami
9:29 AM onwards: Dahi-Chura Prasad distribution and Sindoor Khela for women devotees.
4:30 PM: Grand immersion procession of Maa Durga via Nishatganj Chauraha and IT College, concluding at Jhulelal Park, Gomti Riverbank.
6:30 PM onwards: Shanti Jal ritual and Vijaya Dashami Prasad distribution at the venue.
6th October 2025 – Maha Lakshmi Puja
8:00 PM: Maha Lakshmi Puja as per tradition.
9:30 PM onwards: Community Bhandara for all devotees.
