Bandipora, July 30: Negligence of medical staff at the District Hospital Bandipora forced patients to protest after enduring significant delays in treatment. Following media intervention, hospital authorities promptly attended to the patients, who had been waiting for five hours.
Aasiya Begum, an attendant of one of the patients, reported to the media that the patients, who had been left in pain on the hospital floor, finally received medical attention after the media highlighted their plight. She claimed that such negligence is a routine occurrence at the hospital, with staff frequently directing patients to move from one ward to another throughout the day.
In response to the incident, Medical Superintendent of Bandipora, M.S. Kuka, stated that the delay in treatment was due to a high influx of patients in the outpatient department (OPD). He assured that the matter would be investigated thoroughly and that appropriate action would be taken against any staff found responsible for the negligence.
The hospital administration has pledged to address these issues to prevent recurrence and ensure timely medical care for all patients.
