Aloosa Bandipora : 23 July, Residents of Dooli Mohallah and Chechinaar Binlipora staged a strong protest against the Administration, alleging neglect of their long-pending demand for a road in the area. The protesters stated that despite 60 years of waiting, the road has not been constructed.
The residents further explained that although the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department initiated work on the road three times, progress was halted each time due to one house along the proposed road path refusing to relinquish illegally occupied land. Despite several attempts by the patwari team to demarcate the area, no action has been taken, resulting in the lapsing of the R&B Department’s work orders.
“This situation has caused us significant hardship,” one of the protesters said. “In case of a fire or any emergency, no ambulance or fire service vehicle can reach our locality.”
The residents are urging the authorities to address this issue promptly to prevent further difficulties and ensure the safety and well-being of the community.
