Gurez Faces Severe Shortages in Education and Healthcare, Says DDC Tulail

Lone Sulaiman

Bandipora, : During a press conference today, DDC Tulail and BJP Senior leader Aijaz Raja highlighted the critical issues plaguing Gurez, focusing on significant shortages in both the education and healthcare sectors. The region is experiencing a dire lack of teachers, severely impacting students’ education. Despite bringing these concerns to the attention of the Director of Education, there has been no substantial response or action to address the problem.

The healthcare system in Gurez is also under severe strain due to a shortage of medical staff, leading to considerable distress for the local population. DDC Tulail stressed the necessity for a dedicated transfer policy for Gurez to help mitigate these ongoing issues and ensure adequate staffing in both sectors.

Additionally, DDC Tulail noted that this year, not a single Block Divas has been held in Gurez, whereas normally, two to three such events would have occurred by now. These events are crucial for addressing local issues and promoting development, and their absence is felt deeply by the community.

He also called attention to the plight of refugees in Gurez, advocating for them to receive their rightful entitlements. The combined challenges highlight the urgent need for focused governmental intervention to restore essential services and support the community effectively.
